The scoring at times was very fast. Holdsworth obtained six wickets for 107, but none of the others were effective. The batting of the Wellington men was lamentable, as they could only muster 65, of which extras accounted for 19. Hickson (14) was the only double figure. Cave and Trumble divided the wickets, each raking five for 22 ana 24 respectively. Even then most of the runs were snicks. Going in again, Ashbolt and Quee played out the remaining twenty minutes for eight runs. There was a fair attendance, and the match will result in a profit. This day.— Wellington second innings : All out for 66— Quee 11, Richardson 14, Holdsworth 13, Hickson 8, and Gore 4. The six others made nothing, the extras being 16.
