ROWING.
Last evening the semi-final of the outrigger foqrs was decided between L. Sherriff (str), Dodd (3), Harding (2), A. Sherriff (bow) aud C. Markmann (str), Boyds (3), Eure (2), C. Sherriff (bow). A fair start was effected by both crews, and until the Hospital bend was turned the boats led alternately, but here SherrifFs men began to forge ahead, and at the gas works had a lead of half a length, which , advantage they had on passing the post. This evening the final will be rowed by ■ Sherriff and Duggau. .' , ' ' ; The Poverty Bay Club also rowed off j their semi-final last evening, the' crews for which were stroked by Poole aiia Hackett. Until the hospital bend was reached th» orews were rowing stroke for stroke, but ' from that point Poole gradually drew : away, eventually winning by a length and ' a half. . Poole and Taylor meet in the final ' tonight. ' l
