AUCKLANDERS WARM ON THE SUBJECT.
Auckland, to-day.
At a large mass meeting of workers on Saturday night the following resolutions were carried; "That the Auokland and Taranaki members be requested to use every constitutional means in their power to compel the Government to do simpl justice to this part of the colony by pro . viding communication between Aucklan and Taranaki without further delay. Thi meeting resolves to oppose the return t Parliament of any member who fails t actively and vigorously support the Tara naki railway regardless of party considcra Urns."
At the conclusion of the meeting it was intimated that if a certain member of the Legislative Council did not back down in his attitude to the Stratford route he would be burnt in effigy next Saturday nlght.|
