This Afternoon. — Perfect weather prevails for the second day of the North New Zealand Grand National meeting.. There is a good attendance. The following are the results : — Maiden* Hurdles, of 60 soys, 1£ miles: Levanter 1, Pembroke 2, Tim 3. King John and Tip fell. Won by two lengths. Time, Smin 12sec. Div. (inside and outside), £5. Pony Hurdles, of 40 soys, 1J miles: Valentia, by Derringer— Virginia (Ashdown), 1; The, Dove 2, Kathleen 3. Won by a length. Time, 2min 35sec. Divs., £4 7s and £4 ss.

Great Northern Steeplechase : Liberator 1, Fishmonger 2, Norton 3. Bombardier, Belle, Aorere, CJnion Jack, Scaltheen, Nero, and Deceiver also started. Won easily by four lengths. Bombadier fell. Time, Bmin 57sec ; dividends, inside £3 Bs, outside £3 6s.

Hurdles, 100 soys, If miles.— Donald McKinnon (Ashdown) 1, Warrior 2, Bonovoree3. Won by two lengths. Div., inside £6 10a, outside £10 ,135.
