ORMOND JOCKEY CLUB.

The annual general meeting of the members of the Ormond Jockey Club was held at the Chanrtos Hotel yesterday afternoon. A very satisfactory report and balance sheet, showiug £62 15a to credit after discharging nil liabilities, was read and adopted. Since last New Year's Day meeting the racecourse has been levelled and sown, the grass has taken well, and the racing track on New Year's Day will be in tip top order. The programme for tho Ist January, 1894, was arranged, £150 being the amount of stakes offered. The principal events are thcOrmondCup, of 40 soys ; Hurdles, 30 soys ; Flying, "25 soys ; Welter, 15 soys ; horses to bo ridden by members of the Club only. The following officers were elected :— President, A. li. Newman ; vice-Pre«ident, To Kani Pcre ; Stewards : Messrs A. Irvine, W. E. Cooper , James Sisterton, G. Walters, A. Hatton, R. Harper, J. Bolaud, W. Law, and A. Parsons ; judge, A. Irvine ; starter, A. Pritchanl ; handicapper, C. D. Bennett ; treasurer, W. Law ; clerk of scales, G Walters ; clerk of course, W. Morris ; secretary, J. H. Aislabie. It was decided to try and arrange for a lengthened lease from Mr A. B. Newman, the owner of the racecourse, and to erect a new grand stand. Several new members were elected.
