Mr Kelly's Past Services.
Sir, — Notwithstanding all the absurd twaddle that has b«en said in favor of Mr Kelly's chance at the poll to-morrow, I would like to point out a few facts in connection with the previous election in 188?. In the Tauranga electorate, whore Mr Kelly was the then sitting member, there were 1111 votes polled. They were divided as follows :— Kelly 517, Gill 488, KerrlQG, thus proving that Mr Kelly did nob even represent a majority in his own district, and that probably, but for the fact of there bein v 4 a third candidate in the field, he would have been consigned to oblivion. Also on a former oooasion when Mr Kelly was a candidate opposed to a Poverty Bay man, the amount of support he received here was ten votes. With the foregoing facts staring us in the face, which are ten thousand times better than all the fiction that has been written, ifc will be seen how muoh Mr Kelly's chance is woi'th to-mor-row. The opinions of the electors of the East Coast and Tauranga havo not changed so much in three years as to reverse their former deGJgiqn. I give them credit for more consistency than the handful of weather-cpclcs who change with every shift of wjiid, % a.m.) &0., Voter.
