London*, Sept. 10. The situation with regard to the strike is unchanged. Owing to the liberality of contributions from Australia, money is plentiful. Sept. 11. Cardinal Manning is trying to arrange that the increase conceded to the men by the Dock Companies shall begin on November Ist instead of January Ist, as the directors stipulate. The N. Z. Shipping Company intend to sue a Dock Company for LIO,OOO damages on account of detention of the Ruapehu. The Firemen and Sailor's Unions have announced that in future they will only permit refrigerator engineers to work on X Z. frozen meat cargoes, and that only on condition that they are not touched until the strike is over.
