A punt race f>r £G0 aside and the championship of the Northern Wairoawas rowed on Saturday last on Northern Wairoa river between A. White, of Mercury Bay (the champion), and H. Brown. White took the lead soon after the start and maintained it to the fini3h, winning easily by four lengths.
