LATEST CABLEGRAMS.

[Per s.s. Albion at the Bluff.] [By Teleoaph.] The following cablegrams are extracted from the Australian papers received by the Albion, which arrived at the Bluff yesterday : —

London, June 6. A plot has been discovered at St. Petersburg to assassinate the newCzar. Twenty Nihilists were caught as they were concluding their plans. Terror is increasing in Russia owing to the activity of the Nihilists. Even the army is suspected. It has been considered advisable under the circumstances to postpone the coronation of the Czar. Mr. Healy, member for Wexford, in the course of a bombastic speech, bitterly denounced Mr. JForster as an oppressor of the Irish people, and challenged him to mortal combat with swords. The proposal has created much amusement, especially as Mr. Forster is a Quaker. June 10. A great comet is reported to have been seen at Kimberley in the Transvaal. The Theatre at Belfast was burnt to the ground. The building was almost new, and was the ornament of the city. The frozen meat, fish, game, and fruit by the Lusitania arrived in splendid condition. Another shock of earthquake has been experienced in the island of Chio, where the calamitous earthquake took place in April last. June 13. A daring attempt was made to rescue from the Liverpool Gaol, the Fenians McGrath and Kivett, charged with attempting to blow up the Liverpool Town Hall. A mob of 300 assembled in front of the gaol, but the warders had been previously warned, and when they appeared, the armed mob retreated. The military has been called upon to guard the prison. A magistrate in Galway has been savagely attacked by a band of miscreants, and left for dead. He had applied to Government for protection in the execution of his duties, and had been refused.
