THIS grandly - bred horse is Ivj Traitor, dam Myrtle, by Golden Grape (imp.) out of Moss Rose. Traitor by Traducer, out of Decep tion, by Young Plover, Vanity by Sit Charles, Giguder by Tomboy, Duchess ol York by Waxy, Moses dam by Johanna, Gray Skin by Woodpecker, Herod. Golden Grape (imp.) by Barnton oui Hoppicker by Orlando out of Hlobine by Sir Hercules. Baruton is a brothei to Voltigeur. Deception is a bay mare, bred in Auckland by Mr. Hargraves, where she was very successfully raced, which induced her owner to take her to the Nelson Meeting of 18G0. Here she took all before her, beating 10, Ultimaj Miss Rowe, and others, in everything she started for. She was taken to Australia, where she ran very well. She was then brought back, and put to the stud, where she produced Traitor. BOTH WELL was foaled 13th Oct., 1870, anel is now four years old ; stands 15 hands 3 inches ; has wintered well, and grown into a grand horae. He is a beautiful bay, with great length, substance, and quality, and having the Traducer blood from his sire, aud tha equally famous blood of Sir Hercules through his dam, should prove very successful at the stud. TERMS :— £3 10s. single mares, Two mares, £6, over two as per agreement. : One month's grass free, after which 2s. per week will be charged. All fees to be paid before removal of mares. THIS celebrated cross-country Horse, whose pedigree is well-known, will stand this season at TE ARAI FERRY. BRIGHAM YOUNG is a very powerful rich brown horse, rising 9 years ; bred by Quinlivan, of Wanganui. He • was got by Traducer, out of Missie, by Nutwortli, imported grand dam by Riddlesworth, the winner of the Two Guineas. He also ran second for the Derby in England. Riddlesworth is the sire of Dainty Ariel, Doch a Dhurris, Malaga, and old Volunteer, one of the best cross-country 'horses in the Colony. When a 4-year old, Brigham Young ran his maiden race in the Wanganui Hurdle Race. Among the horses engaged in thi3 race was Wairarapa. He afterwards won the Napier and Wanganui , Hurdle Race. Victor was the winner of the Steeplechase in Wanganui, and the Wellington Hurdle Race Madora is a great winner from the South, having won a great many cross-country races. There were eight others started. This was a fast race from the start, Pat M'Koy winning it on G. Zelle, Brigham Young second. Two months after, Brigham Yo.mg ran for the Grand Steeplechase in Wanganui ; 14 horses started. A very exciting race ensued, several of the horses coming to grief, and two being killed. Here Brigham Young showed himself again to be a true son of Traducer, being a raw colt, 4 years old, and winning the Wanganui Grand Stneplehose against 13 of the best horses in the Island. TERMS :— Single Mares, £3 10s. ; two or or more mares the property of the same owner as per agreement. Groom' b fee, ss. each mare. One month's paddocking free, after which 3s. per week will be charged. All fees to be paid on the removal of mares, after notice of stinting. Paddocking free for one month ; after that 2s Gd per week will be charged. The Clydesdale Draught Stallion YOUNG LORD GLASGOW Will stand this season at Toanga. HE is a low-set, powerful Draught Stallion, stands about lGi- hands high, and is perfectly staunch in harness. Young Lord Glasgow took the first prize at the°Hawke's Bay Agricultural Show held at Hastings in 1574, and Ist prize in Poverty Bay in 1878. Terms — £3 3s each mare.
