Redman's b g Highland Fling 5 yrs 2 A good race, Ruapehu leading for about a mile and a quarter, when he was caught by Highland Fling, who kept his place until caught by Gisborne who came in by half a head on the post. BIRTHDAY HANDICAP of 25 soys. ; 2 miles ; top weight not to exceed 9st slbs. Nomination, 30s ; acceptance, 30s. Highland Fling and Gisborne were scratched, making it a walk over for West End. HACK RACE of 10 soys. ; 1 mile ; po3t entry £1 ; lowest weight 9st 71b. Six entries. Won by Sultan. VISITORS' PLATE of 15 soys. ; 1 mile ; entrance, £2 ; weight for age. Walk over for Gisborne, West End being scratched. CONSOLATION. There were seven entries and a wellcontested race. Ruapehu came in winner after a hard race.
