LIGHTNING CONDUCTOR.
(To tlw. Editor of the. Herald.] Sir, — Before the scaffolding is removed from the spire of Holy Trinity Church, I would beg to suggest to th^se entrusted with the management of Church afiaira, the desirability— indeed I might say the absolute necessity — of attaching a lightning conductor for the protection of the building. The cost would bo merely nominal, as stout galvanised ir^n wire will answer the purpose exceeding well.— Yours <fee., F. J. P. [Later scientists — notably Professor Tyndal, have ascertained that lightning conductors are positively dangerous to life and property — Ed.]
