Will Stand this Season at Pukeamionga, Fatutahi. rpHE CLYDESDALE ENTIRE "DUGDALE," DUGDALE was bred in Victoria, by Mr Dugdale. His sire Black Prince (imp.), dam Rose by Cowder Lad (imp.), g.d. by Ben Lomond (imp.), g.g.d. Brodie's imported mare, g. g.g.d. by Sir Benjamin. As a Yearling, in Australia, he took 2nd prize at B&llarat, 2nd at Smeaton, and lot at Myrnion. As a two-year-did, he took 2nd prize at the Grand National at Melbourne, Ist at Ballarat, 2nd at the Grand National at Smeaton, Ist at Myrniong, lßt at Melton as best entire of any age, and Ist for best two-year-old colt. In 1876, at the Hawke's Bay Show, he took Ist prize in his class ; also, the Champion Prize and fifty guinea Cup as the Best Entire in the yard. In 1877 and 1878 he again took Ist prize and the Champion Prizes at the Hawke's Bay Show. Fee, £5 10s. A reduction made on two or more mares the property of one owner. Paddocking free for one month. BRIGHAM YOUNG. fTIHIS celebrated Cross-country Horse, JL whose pedgree is well-known, will stand this Season at Te Aral Ferry, in charge of William Bailey, one of the best Grooms in the Colony. BRIGHAM YOUNG is a very poweiv fulrich brown horse, rising 7 years ; bred by Mr. Quinlivan, of Wanganui. He is got by Traducer, out of Missie by Nutworth, imported grand dam by Riddlesworth, the winner of the Two Thousand Guineas. He also ran second for the Derby in England. Terms : Single Mares, £3 10s } two or more mares, the property of the same owner, as per agreement. Grooms fees, 5s each mare. One month's paddocking free, after which. 3s per week will be charged. Cooper's Stables, "Waerenga-a-hika. • OWNERS of really good Mares should not lose sight of the opportunity afforded of the service of such an animal as MARORO, as he is closely related to the very best blood now running in England. MARORO is a beautiful, liver-colored Chesnut, standing 16 hands ; and showing a quality of Bone and Substance equal, if not superior, to anything yet bred in New Zealand. In 1876, Maroro was selected by his breeder (Mr H. Redwood, of Spring Creek, Blenheim) to represent his colors for the Dunedin Cup of that year, and, notwithstanding that two Victorian horses and all the New Zealand cracks were amongst the entries, was at once installed first favorite ; and, but for a very severe passage, owing to bad weather prevailing, no doubt could be entertained but that he would have won the great event. •■ . In 1877, as four-year-old, MARORO was exhibited in Blenheim and received the FIRST PRIZE as the BEST THOROUGHBRED STALLION ON THE GROUND. A glance at MARORO'S Pedigree is sufficient to show that a more purely bred animal has never yet had his services tendered in Poverty Bay. (Towton's full sister Marchioness and half-brother Marquis distinguished themselves on the English Turf, as the former won the Oaks, and the latter ran a desperate second for the Derby and won the St. Leger). Fair Agnes by St. Aubyn — Phoebe by Sir Hercules — Woodstock by Theorem. By this it will be seen that the happy "Nick of Blood," which has : in Australia been ever so successful, namely— that of the Sir Hercules and the Touchstone is combined in MARORO— a fact not to be lost Bight of by intelligent breeders. Fair Agnes, the dam of Maroro, has left her mark on the New Zealand Turf, as her foals are — 1872, Nellie by Towton ; 1873, Maroro by Towton ; 1874, l< Choke-bore by Dead Shot.
