[from our own correspondent.] SYDNEY. Monday. Seven bushrangers stuck up on Sunday the Natabadery Hotel and Station, taking arms and ammunition, money and horses. Four policemen from Wagga Wagga were despatched m pursuit, and encountered them, but had to retreat. Subsequently a strong body of police were sent, and a desperate encounter took place. Two bushrangers were shot dead, one wounded, two surrendered, and one escaped. One constable was seriously wounded m the affray. Tuesday. The Natabadenery bushrangers bailed up over thirty persons. The gang which was stated to be seven seems to have been only six. They were five Victorian youths under the leadership of the notorious "Captain Moonlight." He was captured uninjured. Three civilians, who went to assist the police, fell into an ambuscade, and were given five minutes to prepare for death, but the police arriving, a desperate fight ensued. The bushranger who escaped has been captured. He was found concealed m a house close to the scene of the encounter. The constable who was wounded is m a critical state. BRISBANE. Tuesday. Three hundred blacks attacked seven Chinamen while fishing, north of Cooktown. The blacks speared one Chinaman.
