At a Liberal meeting at Leeds, the Duke of Argyll declared that Russia would never be allowed to acquire any portion of Afghanistan, and could not attack on that quarter unless aided by boundary tribes. November 17. The Orders to Admiral Hornby to proceed eastwards have been countermanded. CONSTANTINOPLE. November 17.
