He won the first prize m 1869 as a yearling, beating two-year-old horses. In 1871, as three-year-old, he also carried off the first prize against aged horses. In 1872 he carried off the second prize, being beaten only by President, one of the three newly-imported horses. In 1875 he took tho Silver Cup for the best DRAUGHT ENTIRE at the Poverty Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society's Show. Terms : Single mares, £3 3s. ; two or more the property of the same owner, as per agreement. Groom's fee, 2s. 6d. All care taken, but no responsibility. Tolarho, Levant, Device, Superstition, Doctor, and Talisker, while from inferior mares he has got such performers as Landsdowne (winner of the V.R.C. Steeplechase), Encounter, Middleton, &c. At the Annual Parade of Entires a< Christchurch, Mr. Wallis' Pride of ScotI land and Sir Walter Scott and Mr. R. Wilkin's Bill Fait Play, attracted the majority of Visitors.
