CORRESPONDENCE.

[We do not hold ourselves responsible for opinion expressed by cnrrespomtanta.] [To the Editor of the Herald.] Sir, — T would feel much obliged by your publishing the following comments re the management of the charge and admission to the race-course. .It will be granted that the public generally and without a doubt understood the admission for horaemen (as per the advertisement to that effect) was 2s 6d, and I, among the many, paid that sum for, as I imagined, admission to the race course, but to my disgust and chagrin and indeed that of all equestrians who had paid their 2s (>d expressed m no very measured terms indignation at being refused admisssion to the ground for their horses, necessitating their dismounting and loitering about the courses. Especially was this arrangement embarassing to ladies, who, with riding habits found considerable inconvenience at boing

compelled to dismount or with no other alternative but returning, and should have demanded repayment of the 2s 6d disbursed for admission to the race ground. Then a«ain, having to leave one's horse tethered with the bridle to the fence (not having provided for such an exigency), or any available scrub that presented itself, at the mercy of anyone feeling inclined to purloin or to make •away altogether with it, saddle and all. Trusting that the committee of management of the coming races will not mislead the public as the Waerenga-a-hika management have. — I am, &c. , Equestrian.
