Wellington, This Day. The House met yesterday at 2.30. The Speaker announced that arrangements had been made to bring the prisoner Worgan from Wanganui to give evidence before the Native Affairs Committee. The petition of George Daveyi before that committee alleges that Worgan and Sutton conspired to defraud one Raro Monoi of a large estate and that the natives who defrauded had no means to prosecute the case before the Supreme Court. The report from the House m Committee on Triennial Parliaments Bill having been brought up, Mr. Reeves moved the recommittal of the Bill m order to make, the present Parliament expire m February, 1883, instead of 1882. The motion was negatived by 42 to 24, and the Bill was read a second time, and passed. The Qualification Election Bill was further considered m committee. Several amendments were proposed, the discussion of which was interrupted by the dinner adjournment. On the motion resuming, Mr. Hall moved the second reading of the Electors Validations Bill, explaining that its object was to validate the elections of Captain Colbeck and Tawhai. The Bill was opposed by Sir George Grey atid several other of the Opposition members, but the second reading was passed and the House went into committee on the Bill. Major Te Wheoro's name was added to the schedule, and as so amended the Bill was reported and read a third time and passed. The House went again into committee on the Qualification of Electors Bill. An amendment was moved by Mr. Baliance to substitute the word "Person" for "Male" m the first clause so as to admit women to the franchise ; and it was carried, the Government voting with the majority. Mr. Montgomery then moved an amendment restricting every elector to one vote m the colony ; but was negatived on a division. Mr. Moss next moved an amendment restricting residence m one district to one month. The discussion was continued for some time and ultimately, on Mr. Macandrew's motion, progress was reported and the House adjourned at 2.30.
