AUCKLAND. This Day. A large public meeting of the City West electors was held last night. A resolution was passed that Mr Hurst, having been elected to act m concert with the Auckland party and having deserted them, the meeting called upon him to support that party or resign. An amendment, approving of his conduct, and of that the other three Auckland members, was rejected ; ns also another amendment to suspend judgment to a future meeting. A little girl, daughter of William Lowe, fell over St. Barnabas Point, a distance of 25 feet yesterday, and was badly injured. GRAHAMSTOWN. This Day. An inquest on the body of Dr Gilbert was held yesterday. The evidence showed he took by mistake bella donna instead of orange peel tincture. DUNEDIN. This Day. The performance of the Loftus Troupe on Monday night was highly indecent. The police have taken proceedings against thepi.
