COMMERCIAL.
Messrs. Ferris and Pitt report that at the cattle sale at Makaraka yesterday, there was a fair attendance, bnt bidding was limited, and prices lowering. They quote : Heifers, £3 10s. to £3 155. ; cows, £2 to £7. Tne fat cattle did not reach the reserve. At Messrs. Bourke & Smith's sales to-day there was a large attendance, and the prices realised were, on the whole, satisfactory. The goodwill of the lease of Direy's land was bought for £120 by Mr. Gr. Smith. The Kte money for the agricultural show was ught by Mr. £. P. Joyce, for the sum of *19.
