In pursuance of the power vested ii them by Section No. 202 of the " Muni cipal Corporations Act, 1876," and o all other powers vested m them by th< said Act, the Council of the Borough o | Gisborne ordain as follows, that is t< say— 1, Where any footway shall be con structed on the side or sides o: any street within the Borougl of Gisborne, m accordance witl the provisions of Section 20! of the "Municipal Corpora tions Act, 1876," one-half o: the cost of constructing anc repairing suoh footway shall b< a oharge upon and shall be paic by the occupier of the landi and buildings fronting on such . footway. 2. For the purpose of this Bye law* the word "occupier' shall mean any person whow interest shall exceed a term o: three years m the land occupiec by him, and shall mean th< owner of the land m case th< interest of the actual occupiei shall not exceed such term.
