THE ENTRY ON MR. ARTHUR'S RUN.
[To tlie Editor of tlie Herald.] Sir, — I am sincerely sorry there should be those m the community who show such an animus by endeavouring to stir up dirty water between the Natives and the Europeans. That some one or other •of the Pakeha-Maoris have nothing to do with the recent case of foroible entry on Mr Arthur's run, I, for one, cannot for a moment believe, and I know there are many others of my mind. It is a lasting disgrace to the New Zealand legislature m Native matters that steps are not taken to prevent the damage Pakeha-Maoris are doing m exoiting the native mind to repudiate bona fide purchases. What punishment should follow such aots is a question which should engage the attention of Parliament forthwith. This stirring-up of the native mind that such aots follow which have been committed, must lead to trouble, if not to actual outrages. — I am, &c, A Pakeha, but not a Pake ha- . Maori.
