[from our own correspondent.] NAPIER. This Day. The Synod of the Diocese of Waiapu was opened yesterday. There was a large attendance of the clergy and laity. The Waste Lands Board passed a resolution recommending the Government that such provisions be inserted m the Land Act as would promot eimmigration of farmers. CHRISTCHUROH. This Day. A man named Marshall was sentenced to six weeks' hard labor for terrorising over a girl m the Park, and pretending to be a constable. He made improper overtures to her. DUNEDIN. This Day. The Star last night stated on good authority that a^cablegram of the AgentGeneral respecting the loan was to the effect that there were indications that it would not be fully floated.
