Will Stand This Season at Makauri. > The Celebrated Clydesdale Stallink "AUCKLAND." A UCKLAND is by Major, out of a J_JL Lincoln mare. He won the first prize m 1869 as a yearling, beating two-year-old horses. In 1871, as three-year-old, he also carried off the first prize against aged horses. In 1872 he carried off the second prize, being beaten only by President, one of the three newly-imported horses. In 1875 he took the Silver Cup for the best DRAUGHT ENTIRE at the Poverty Bay Agiiuultural and Pastoral Society's Show. Terms : Single mares, £3 3s. ; two or more the property of the same owner, as per agreement. Groom's fee, 2s. 6d. All care taken, but no responsibility. By Tregeagle, dam Migionette, by Egre* mont. rpREGEAGLE, br. h., by Wild J_ Dayrell (winner of the English Derby), his dam Silverhair, by Kingston from England's Beauty, by Irish Birdcatcher from Pararie Bird, by Touchstone out of Zillah, by Reveller, &c. Wild Dayrell was a most successful sire, and his sons have been equally so, as he is the grand sire of Kisber, Formosa, Brigantine, See Saw, and many others m England, and m these colonies of Pride of the Hills, Lockleys, Impudence, Device, Aldinga, &c, Silverhair, the dam of Tregeagle, was a full sister to Mr. Lee's Kingston, so well known m Australia as the sire of Kingsborough, Speculation, Lecturer, Savanaka, Blue Peter, Malta, &c. She is also dam of. Silvio, winner of the English Derby and St. Leger of 1877, and of Garterly Bell, the crack two-year-old of his year. It is worthy of note that Wheel of Fortune, perhaps the best mare ever bred, is out of a Kingston mare. Tregeajrle was a first-class performer on the English turf, and is without doubt as well bred as any horse m the World. In spite of few opportunities with thoroughbred mares, he is the sire of Tubal Cain, Impudence (winner of the Adelaide Cup). Tolarno, Levant, Device, Superstition, Doctor, and Talisker, while from inferior mares he has got such performers as Laridsdowne (winner of the V.R.C. Steeplechase), Encounter, Middleton, &c. At the Annual Parade of Entires at Chriatchnrch, Mr. Wallis' Pride of Scotland and Sir Walter Scott and Mr. R. Wilkin's Bill Fail Play, attracted the majority of Visitors. " DISRAELI " is a splendid sample of the much admired and appreciated Clydesdale stock, both m Australia and should be sought after and patronised by owners of mares m Poverty Bay.
