On the order paper of the House of Representatives the following notice of motion .appears in Mr. Ormond's name :— " That a select committee, consisting of thirteen members, be appointed to enquire into and report generally upon the expenditure during the year ended 30th June, 1879, and for the quarter euded 30th September, 1879, under the votes for native purposes and native land purchases.
