His sire Black Prince (imp.), dam Rose by Cowder Lad (imp.), g.d. by Ben Lomond (imp.), g.g.d. Brodie's imported mare, g. g.g.d, by Sir Benjamin. As a Yearling, in Australia, he took 2nd prize at Ballarat, ,2nd at Smeaton, and Ist at Myrnion. As a two-year-old, he took 2nd prize at the Grand National at Melbourne, Ist at Ballarat, 2nd at the Grand National at Smeaton, Ist at Myrniong, Ist at Melton as best entire of any age, and Ist for best two-year-old colt; In 1876, at the' Hawke's Bay' Show, he took Ist prize in his class ; also, the Champion Prize and fifty guinea Cup as the Best Entire in the yard. In 1877 and 1878 he again took Ist prize and the Champion Prizes at the Hawke's Bay Show. Fee, £5 10s. A reduction made on two or more 1 mares the property of one owner. By Tregeagle, dam Migionette, by Egre* mont. mREGEAGLE, br. h., by Wild I Dayrell (winner of the English Derby), his dam Silverhair, by Kingston from England's Beauty, by Irish Birdcatcher from Pararie Bird, by Touchstone out of Zillah, by Reveller, &c. .Wild Dayrell was a most successful sire, and his sons have been equally so, as he is the grand sire of Kisber, Formosa, Brigantine, See Saw, and many others in England, and in these colonies of Pride of the Hills, Lockleys, Impudence, Device, Aldinga, &c, Silverhair, the dam of Tregeagle, was a full sister to Mr. Lee's Kingston, so well known in Australia as the sire of Kingsborough, Speculation, Lecturer, Savanaka, Blue Peter, Malta, &o. She is also dam of Silvio, winner of the English Derby and St. Leger of 1877, and of Garterly Bell, the crack two-year-old of his year. It is worthy of note that Wheel of Fortune, perhaps the best mare ever bred, is out of a Kingston mare. Tregeagle was a first-class performer on the English turf, and is without doubt as well bred as any horse in the 'world. In spite of few opportunities With thoroughbred mares, he is the sire of Tubal Cain, Impudence (winner of the Adelaide Cup), Tolarno, Levant, Device, Superstition, Doctor, and Talisker, while from inferior mares he has got such performers as Landsdowne (winner of the V.R.O. Steeplechase), Encounter, Middleton, &c. Terms : £3 10s single mares ; a reduction made for two or more mares the property of the one owner. Groomage, 6s. He is a grand colt, i standing 16 hands high, by Sir Walter Scott (imported) ; dam Blossom by Sir Colin Campbell, out of Scotland's Pride (imported) : by King Fergus (imported.) ** DISRAELI" gained the second prize at the Christchurch and Rangiora Shows as a two-year-old. At the Annual Parade of Entires at Christchurch, Mr. Wallis' Pride, of Scotland and Sir Walter Scott and Mr. R. Wilkin's Bill Fail Play, attracted the majority of Visitors. "DISRAELI" is a splendid sample of the mach admired and appreciated Clydesdale stock, both in Australia and should be sought after and patronised by owners of mares in Poverty Bay.
