His sire Black Prince (imp.), dam Rose by Cowder Lad (imp.), go\ by Ben Lomond (imp.), g.g.d. Brodie's imported mare, g. g.g.d. by Sir Benjamin. As a Yearling, m Australia, he took 2nd prize at Ballarat, 2nd at Smeaton, and Ist at Myrnion. As a two-year-old, he took 2nd prize at the Grand National at Melbourne, Ist at Ballarat, 2nd at the Grand National at Smeaton, Ist at Myrniong, Ist at Melton as best entire of any age, and Ist for best two-year-old colt. In 1876, at the Hawke's Bay Show, he took Ist prize m his class ; also, the Champion Prize and fifty guinea Cup as the Best Entire m the yard. In 1877 and 1878 he again took Ist prize and the Champion Prizes at the Hawke's Bay Show. Fee, £5 10s. A reduction made on two or more mares the property of one owner. Paddocking free for one month. BRIGHAM YOUNG. ri^HIS celebrated Cross-coxintry Horse, _L whose pedgree is well-known, will stand this Season at TeArai Ferry, m charge of William Bailey, one of the best Grooms m the Colony. BRIGHAM YOUNG is a very powerful rich brown horse, rising 7 years ; bred by Mr. Quinlivan, 'of Wanganui. He is got by Traducer, out of Missie by Nutworth, imported grand dam by Riddlesworth, the winner of the Two Thousand Guineas. He also ran second for the Derby m England. : Terms : Single Mares, £3 10s ; two or more mares, the property of the same owner, as per agreement. Grooms fees, 5s each mare. One month's paddocking free, after which 3s per week will be charged. All fees to be paid on the removal of mares after notice of stinting. J&&- Mares to be left at Mr. Archard's. . By Tregeagle, dam Migionette, by Egremont. rpREGEAGLE, br. h., by Wild JL Dayrell (winner of the English Derby), his dam Silverhair, by Kingston from Englnnd's Beauty, by Irish Birdcatcher from Pararie Bird, by Touchstone out of Zillah, by Reveller, &c. Wild Dayrell was a most successful sire, and his sons have been equally so, as he is the grand sire of Kisber, Formosa, Brigantine, See Saw, and many others m England, and m these colonies of Pride of the Hills, Loukleys, Impudence, Device, Aldinga, &c, Silverhair, the dam of Tregeagle, was a full sister to Mr. Lee's Kingston, so well known m Australia as the sire of Kingsborough, Speculation, Lecturer, Savanaka, Blue Peter, Malta, &c. She is also dam of Silvio, winner of the English Derby and St. Leger of 1877, and of Garterly Bell, the crack two-year-old of his year. It is worthy of note that Wheel of Fortune, perhaps the best mare ever bred, is out of a Kingston mare. Tregeagle was a first-class performer on the English turf, and is without doubt as well bred as any horse m the | world. In spite of few opportunities I with thoroughbred mares, he is the sire of Tubal Cain, Impudence (winner of the Adelaide Cup). Tolarno, Levant, Device, Superstition, Doctor, and Talisker,- while from inferior mares he has got such performers as Landsdowne {winner of the V.R.C. Steeplechase), Encounter, Middleton, «£c. Terms : £3 10s single mares ; a reduction made for two or more mares the property of the one owner. Groomage, ss. All fees must be paid before removal of mares.
