His sire Black Prince (imp.), dam Rose by Cowder Lad (imp.), g.d. by Ben Lomond (imp.), g.g.d. Brodie's imported mare, g. g.g.d. by Sir Benjamin. As a Yearling, m Australia, he took 2nd prize at Ballarat, 2nd at Smeaton, and Ist at Myrnion. As a two-year-old, he took 2nd prize at the Grand National at Melbourne, Ist at Ballarat, 2nd at the Grand National at Smeaton, Ist at Myrniong, Ist at Melton as best entire of any age, and Ist for best two-year-old colt. In 1876, at the Hawke's Bay Show, he took Ist prize m his class ; also, the Champion Prize and 6fty guinea Cup as the Best Entire m the yard. In 1877 and 1878 he again took Ist prize and the Champion Prizes at the Hawke's Bay Show. Fee, £5 10a. A reduction made on two or mare mares the property of • one owner. Wild Dayrell was a most successful 3ire, and his sons have been equally so, as he is the grand sire of Kisber, Formosa, Brigantine, See Saw, and f many others m England, and m these colonies of Pride of the Hills, Loukleys, Impudence, Device, Aldinga, &c, Silverhair, the dam of Tregeagle, was a full sister to Mr. Lee's Kingston, so well known m Australia as the sire l of Kingsborough, Speculation, Lecturer, Savanaka, Blue Peter, Malta, &c. She is also dam of Silvio, winner of the English Derby and St. Leger of 1877, and of Garterly Bell, the crack two- i year-old of his year. It is worthy of note that Wheel of Fortnne, perhaps the best mare ever bred, is out of a Kingston mare. Tregeasde was a first-class performer on the English turf, and is without doubt as well bred as any horse m the world. In spite of few opportunities with thoroughbred mares, ho is the sire of Tubal Cain, Impudence (winner of lie Adelaide Cup). Tolarno, Levant, Device, Superstition, Doctor, and Talisker, while from inferior maves he has got such performers as Laudsdowne (winner of the V.R C. Steeplechase), Encounter, Middleton, &c. Terms : £3 10s single mares ; a reduction made for two or more mares the property of the one owner. Groomage, ss. All fees must be paid before removal of mares.
