RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before His Worship the Mayor, and Paora Parau.)
This Day. Robert Cooper was charged on the information of W. L. Rees with having, ou September sth, used provokiug and insulting language, calculated to lead to a breach of the; peace, and the complainant prayed that the defendant be bound m sureties to keep the peace. J. W. Nolan appeared for the complainant, and Mr: E. ff. Ward for defendant. Defendant's counsel admitted the offence, and on Mr. Rees representing to the Bench that he did not wish to be severe, but only brought the action to prevent its recurrence, as he thought Mr. Cooper had spoke unadvisably, the Bench bound over the defendant m his own'recognisances for £50 to keep the peace for G months. A. Graham v. H. Evans. — The two charges against the accused were adjourned till to-morrow. FORCIBLE ENTRY. Ratcliffe v. A. Graham and othex's.— Mr. Rees for the prosecution, and Mr. J. T. E. Rogan for the defence. [The case occupied the Court most of the day, and was still proceeding when we went to press.]
