MELBOURNE. This Day. The robbers of the Commercial Bank made a full confession of guilt A large steamer has been chartered m England for a trial shipment from Sydney and Melbourne of preserved, meat by dry air refrigerating process. A London telegram dated the 18th instant, states that owing to phyloxera and rainy weather ie is expected the brandy vintage will be destroyed.
• SYDNEY. This Day. All the colleries have resumed work pending the adoption of a decision to work eight days fortnightly, instead of continuing the vend system. The police and troops have left the mines, but remain at Newcastle for the present. BRISBANE. This Day. The Legislative Assembly last night negatived a motion of want of confidence m the Ministry by a majority of three.
