CAPT. MORRIS THREATENS THE ELECTORS OF GISBORNE.
[To the Editor of the Hkrald.] Sir, — In the; gushing simplicity of, his polite political balderdash, the ex-re-presentative of this ' electorate m his high falutin style of parliamentary oratory, said on last Saturday evening, that if the electors of Gisborne, &c, return a local man to Parliament, the party to which he, (Capt. Morris), belungs would take care that no expenditure of public money should take place here. Sir, Ido not ask Capt. Morris tp answer, or indeed to take any serious notice of this letter. His answers on Education are already beforo us all, and his threat as to the inevitable results of our returning a local man, we cannot lightly pass over. As an elector, 1 advise" him to retire at once from his humiliating position, and return to his broad acres and study the claims, jusfc, constitutional and natural, of a large section of our fellow-colonists.—! am &c. Elector.
