OAMARU.

This Day. The Natives, who for some time have squatted on the Omarama Run. have at last gone. Inspector Thompson warned them off, and gave them time to clear off. He had forty men with him. but not Armed Constabulary. The Natives were all armed, but made no resistance. They had at first intended to do so, but were awed by the Inspector's cool behaviour. They numbered 150, but 100 of them were women and children. They had about a hundred horses, fifty - drays, and about one thousand dogs.
