Mr Maoandrew perpetrated a grim joke during the no.confldenoe debate which should be embalmed as a specimen of good humor under reverses. .Replying to a member about a certain railway line, the lion, gentleman stated that the work would be ready for tender at the end of the present month, "but whether it was put m hand would, unless the prophets were wrong, depend upon the gentlemen on the other side of the House.!* The prophets have proved to be wrong.
