• i This Day. Parliament will be dissolved by proclamation either this evening or tomorrow, and writs for the. new' Parliament will be issued on Monday. Mr. George Hunter announces himself for re-election for the city, and Mr. Brandon for Wellington country districts. • Dr. Newman, one of the candidates for the city addressed a meeting on Tuesday night. About 500 people were present. He expressed himself m favor of Liberal principles, but thought it was time the present Government . were . out of office. He would support manhood suffrage, but it should be deferred for a time. He considered there were other matters of greater importance than Triennial Parliaments, though he would support such a measure. He received a vote of thanks. A further 'detachment of Armed Constabulary were sent to Patea yesterday. Another batch is m the ..barracks ready if required, . ..'•;. Nearly 400 names are on the list of the Liberal Association.
