The Agnes Donald returned to«*Levuka from a labor cruise on the 2nd inst., and the captain then reported that at Pentecost Island a boat's crew landed and Svere attacked on the beach by the natives. The crew of the boat were under the charge of the mate— a young man named George Simpson, well known m Auckland. He fired his revolver and wounded one of his assailants, but he was struck on the head and killed on, the beach ; three natives, who composed the crew, were literally hacked to pieces, and only a lad escaped. Simpson has a wife and family m Auckland.
