Political Gossip.

Wellington, This Day, The Opposition have had a great deal of trouble to pin the Premier to some fixed time for a. dissolution and nieetinsy of the new Parliament. Nothing could be got out of him for a long while, beyond his solemn assurances that there weuld be no unnecessary delay, and that the new Parliament would meet at the earliest possible date. It was only after a good deal of pressure had been brought to bear, that something definite was got out of him, and even then he sheltered himself as to the time of dissolution, by pointing out that it was the Governor who would dissolve. However, h.O did at last say that so'far as he could do so, the dissolution would take place three days after the prorogation, and a new Parliament would be assembled by the 20th of September.
