CHRisTCHtfRCH, Monday. The Canterbury Com Exchange report for the week : — First-class wheat for seed purposes, 4s 6d ; second quality, 4s to 4s 2d 4 chick wheat, 3s to 3s 4d ; oats, no alteration ; feed samples, 2s Gd to 2s 7d ; milling, 2s 8d to 2s 9u. Barley is still in good request ; prime milling, 5s 9d to 6s ; medium, 4s 6d to 5s 6d ; feed qualities, 2a 6d to 38 Cd. Potatoes : Prices remain .at last week's quotations, namely, £3 10s at country stations ; bags, 6a 9d, local. The demand continues for good grass seed ; holders of mill-dressed seed look for 5s to 5s Gd. Cheese and butter : Little or no business ; cheese, Gd to 6W. ; butter, 8d to 9d. July 31. .Wheat remains steady, and prices are firm at 3s lld to 4s for the best milling. Fair business ia doing in oats, but prices remain the same. Barley, 5s 7d to 6s ; potatoes 60s to 70s per ton. Flour is following the hardening of the wheat market. Some millers have advanced the price £1 j per ton. Quotations are £10 to £11. Wellintgon July 31. Mr. James O'Shea reports : — Adelaide flour, £13 10a to £14, and stocks low ; Canterbury flour, £10 to £10 10s ; Oamaru flour, £10 10s ; sharps, £5 10s ; bran, Is per bushel ; oats.^s 4d to 2s 9d ; potatoes, £10 to £11 ; maize, 5s ; hams and bacon, 9d to 9Jd, equal sorts. -
