SMALL FARM SETTLEMENTS.

I In connection with the petition to the Assembly on the above, to which we referred yesterday, we give to-day a communication which we have received, from Mr G. H. Wilson. He has taken the trouble to write on the back of poist cards, addressed to gentlemen, from the Governor down to the various Mayors ' and leading newspapers m the Colony, as follows : — Gisborne, July 28, 1879. Sir,— ln the constitutional endeavor to counteract , the Nihilistic action of Sir George Grey, Premier ; m the interests of the working man ; m the maintenance of law and order ; and to provide a means whereby a source of permanent prosperity may be secured to our country, take up, join with, and further the movement, already begun here, as reported m the Poverty Bay Herald, a copy of which, of above date, I have the honor to send you herewith. Your obedient servant, George H. Wilson.
