June 30. Lqvd Lawrence is dead. J^the House of Lords to-day the Lord Chancellor introduced a Bill as a Government measure, to supersede the one brought on by the Irish members m the House of Commons, to establish a Catholic University in^ Ireland similar to the Loiidon University, with power to grant degrees and receive endowments of the Queen's University, which, m such case, would virtually be suppressed. July 1. The Chancellor of the Exchequer stated m the Commons to-night, that the late Lord Lawrence would receive a public funeral, and be buried m Westminister Abbey.
