. This Day. The Natives commenced ploughing again at Tapae .on Saturday. The Armed Constabulary removed the implements from the field, and took them to the Native village, but the Natives brought the ploughs back again. Fifty of the Constabulary went by train on Saturday to Waitara to go on to the White Cliffs to stop ploughing there. .'■'■'■■

The Maori most emphatically declined to exhibit the prophet's powers, and was doubtful if the experiment would be successful. . ' '

thanking the Hawera settlers for the course taken by 'them.
