Thia Day. Mr. Snelson, the Mayor, who is auctioneer, was charged yesterday, ■with a breach of the Arms Act, by selling a gun to a person not licensed. He pleaded that he followed the, usual practice of auctioneers taking a shilling from the purchaser for the license, which he after px-ocured. He Was cemmitted for trial, but the R.M. remarked that evidently the defendant had no intention to commit the offence, and advised him to apply for a ' nolle proseqtie to be entered.
