rT\HE object of the promoters of this I Company is to place upon the market a manufactured artiole equal m quality to any imported, thereby retaining m the district the capital which is being annually sent away, viz., about £10,000 ; of which probably one half represents the labor -employed m towns m New Zealand other than Gjsborne, and, m some cases, m America. To secure the retention of so large an amount of profitable employment for local workmen should, m itself, be a great inducement to give to this enterprise ; for the carrying out of which the erection of suitable machinery will be necessary, and a continuous supply of timber and other raw material required m the business, ' must be pro* vided. It is proposed to purchase or take over the business and plant of Mr. John Warren, known as "TheOisborne Steam Joinery Works," at a valuation, upon the following terms, as follows, viz : half cash and half m paid up shares m the Company, and to procure a steam engine of greater power, with sundry other matters of plant— to enlarge the present work shop, thus providing power and space for the continued increase of business. These matters, together with the 'preliminary expenses of floating and forming the Company, (unless for the purposes of a largely-increased trade) will not require more than two-thirds of the proposed capital to be called up. < It is proposed to call up one-fourth of the. capital during the first six months, viz. : 4s per share on application, and 6s on allotment ; 10s during the following three months ; and the balance, if required, m calls of 5s each, at intervals of no lesß than three months'. To builders this project should commend itself, foe the two-fold' reasons of economy of time and expense.? Woodworking Companies have, as a rule, been eminently successful m New Zealand, and their dividends have been steadily increasing during th£ past ten years. In the present instance work can be commenced immediately when the required capital is subscribed, therefore the money will ribt remain for ah any time unemployed, f ; The site upon which the factory stands is held under leaS at a rental of £42 per annum, the untfpired term being 17 years. There is a right of way direct to the premises from both Gladstone and PalmerstQn Roads, and direct communication with the River, with every facility fo* erecting t> wharf if at any time required. The Plant is m excellent working order. , The average probable weekly -expenditure for Wages, Material, Ac,, is £200. This includes every dart of material and labor to tuun : out;..; tjhe ■ finished article. It is probable the weekly income will be about £260 per week ; leaving a clear profit of £50 peek, or 20 per cent on the Capital proposed to be called up. As a considerable number of shares has already , been 'taken up an early application for the remainder is desirable. ; );
