EXHIBITION OF WOOL AT THE SYDNEY EXHIBITION.
Regarding the exhibition of other products, Mr Morris (Secretary to the Exhibition) writes to this Colony : — "In regard to your query as to the quantity of which each exhibit m certain classes should consist, I am to say that it is the matter wholly left t:> the discretion of the Commissions of the different participating colonies. It may suit some of the colonieß to display their more characteristic products m substantial quantities, and the Commission here has no desire to interfere with the arrangements of the space allotted to each. 1 may, however, remark that the International Commission reqires the exhibitors from the colony (New South Wales) to send not less than two bushels of each kind of cereal, so that there may be sufficient samples for interchange with our neighbours, or to present to our foreign visitors. In preserves and other similar exhibits, twelve pounds at least of each variety is required ; and of potatoes, beet, turnip, &c., one hundred weight of each. Mere specimens of such objects would hardly be appropriate. In respect to wines, beers, fruit- wines, syrups, &c., the Commission desires that, apart from the samples to be placed m cellars for the inspection and report of the Judges, the makers m New South Wales should erect trophies of their various productions ; and, further, it will be glad if the countries and colonieß taking part of
the exhibition will display their wines beers, &c, m a section of the main building to be common to all similar products. This is merely a suggestion, and is m no way intended to control the plans which your Commission may have 4 formed for the disposal of such exjfl hibit." ***
