This Day. The steamer City of New York, with the London mails of 24th April, left San Francisco for Auckland on. 12th May, and the steamer Australia, with the colonial mails arrived in San Francisco on 21st instant, one day in advance of contract time. A sharp shock of earthquake was felt in Wellington at 12.15 p.m. yesterday. The Governor has received intimation that Hon. Edward William Stafford and Hon. William Fox have been made Knigtits Commanders of St. Michael and fc't. George.
