The business of the Landß Court,- both yesterday and to-day, has been conducted in the most unsatisfactory manner, it is possible to conceive. The solicitors in attendance have been treated with the utmost discourtesy and indifference by the Judge ; almost, as we understand, with contempt. No notice is posted, outside or inside of the Court stating what cases ere to be called on,

or in what order. The Judge announced yesterday that he would give a decision — a most important one — in the case, where Mr. Cuff, on behalf of Abeta Te Rno, asked that he should be appointed successor to the late Paora Apattj in the Makauri Block. When the Court opened this morning, the Judge told an interpreter to tell the Maories that he was not going to give iiny decision "but," said the interpreter, "there are the solicitors in attendance." " Tell them what I have said in English " replied the Judge. Hundreds of Maories are waiting in attendance round the Court House, but none of them know when there cases are likely to be called on. The members of the profession have agreed to represent the treatment they and their clients have receivedto. the Native Minister. Surely the legal profession are entitled to receive the same consideration from a Maori Judge (such being term employed by a stretch of courtesy) as they looktojreceive and always do receive from the Judges presiding over the Supreme Courts.
