m , „ , This Day. The chiefs and all the principal men of Ngatimaniopoto have been holding a private conclave at Wahanui's camp. They have not yet came to any decision ; but the majority are in favor of appointing Rewi and two or three chiefs as a committee to carry on negotiations with the Government respecting their lands. Rewi has written to Sheehan requesting him to await at Alexandra for a decision. The Native Minister left for Ngaruawhaia yesterday afternoon, and is expected back to-morrow.
