This Day. jast Saturday an alarm of fire was en at about half-past one m the* rating. The fire was discovered to on the vacant allotment at the corner Manchester and Hereford Streets, ere a number of cases containing jars litric acid had been stored. The jars ed and set fire to the straw and I- work of the packing cases. They nged to Mr. F. Sainsbury, and were orted chemicals. The Fire Brigade nptly turned out, and extinguished fire, which caused very trifling age. Fortunately the fire was disred early, as one portion of the s was stacked against a large wooden le, occupied by Mr. Barsdley pictureae manufacturer.
