This Day. The railway between Greymouth and Hokitika will shortly be commenced at both ends. At a meeting of the Sydney Exhibition Commissioners, Dr. Hector stated that 50 applications for space had been received from Dunedin, 39 from Wellington and many, more expected from other parts yf the colony.

Sir George Grey and Mr. Sheehan left m the Hinemoa yesterday afternoon for the Bay of Islands. They expect to be m Auckland on Saturday, and from thence they go to attend the native meeting.
