WELLINGTON.
This Day. The Supreme Court Criminal Sittings opened yesterday. The Grand Jury found true bills against all the prisoners except Laugley (Otaki), where no true bill was returned, on a charge of forgery, owing to the absence of a material witness, a native. William Bacon, a boy charged with the Anchor Office robbery, pleaded guilty, and was remanded for sentence. E. Wagner, architect, was convicted of false pretence 3 by means of valueless cheques, and also remanded for sentence. W. H. Parnell, indicted for feloniously wounding his wife, was acquitted. Charles Boss pleaded guilty to two charges of forgery, and was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment, each sentence to run concurrently. The prisoner seemed to be m the lant stages of consumption, and will be sent to the hospital instead of the gaol. W. Finnimore, senior, a very old Bettler, is dead,
