INVERCARGILL.
This Day. Patrick M'Mamin has been committed for trial for arson. The hut which was used as a stable was burnt, destroying the horse "Young Lofty," lately Bold for £100, but insured m the New Zealand Office for £275. The jury added a rider to their verdict, to the effect that Insurance Offices are encouraging fires by over insuring.
